Public Relations Letter

Dear Michael,
Your mother said you were interested in studying public relations but that you needed more information about what it in tales.

Public relations is representing a company to gain awareness and favorable opinion from the public. This means closely monitoring many different types of media for comments about the company and its products. If there is a crises that could threaten the companies image a PR representative will manage the situation. PR is building a positive reputation among an organization’s target market through community, special programs and events.

A big part of public relations is being able the write good in a short deadline. The majority of the articles written are going to be press releases. These consist of a one-page announcement that is printed and distributed to members of the press for the purpose of seeking media attention. There are also other writings for PR. Blogging and press conferences are important for the company to communicate both internally and externally.

Hope this gave you a better understanding about the fundamentals of public relations.

Sincerely,
Derek
